Inspired by avant-garde, Katy Philpot (b.1998) follows the movement by its traditional foundations. Built on the forms of innovative concepts and beliefs, Philpot’s work reflects originality of vision by provoking the ideologies of beauty through a series of images exploring colour, texture and materials.

Recently graduating from the University of the Arts London, the young photographer’s versatile approach consists of an impulsive aggression to challenge her audiences’ perceptions of objects and other substances. Often using food, Philpot tries to dissimulate the radical consumption and idealised representation of objects, in attempt of extending their existence.
